New album „Sea of Snow“

Before recording a new album gave Erion to itself a condition it hadn't finished recording earlier than it was absolutely sure. Album has been recording for whole autumn 2004 and still at the beginning of the year 2005 and was finishing in summer 2005 with new members.

In the album you can find 17 songs whereout 12 completely new and 5 bonuses including 2 in English . The band a little bit experimented during recording so it recorded for example song „Perla“ with string quarted, it tried 2 songs in English and wasn't affraid of version with electronic drums. Irish flutes, which flashed through melodies of most songs, are really original ­ it whistled a tremendous guest, Mr Václav Sýkora, who participated in recording a music to well-known movie Titanic. Producer of album is known musician and composer Karel Vágner.

Zdeněk „Charlie“ Blažek (Superstar, Karel Gott, Helena Vondráčková, Martin Maxa) ­ music producer and guitarist helped with dress and music production in Mercury Recording Studio Rokycany. And Ján Červenka from Bratislava (Elán, Vašo Patejdl) laid hands on mastering of the whole album. The role of executive producer played manager of the band ­ Jiří Fejt senior.

Album was called as a samenamed front-page song „ Zasněžený moře“ which you can find in english version „Sea of snow“, as well. „Zasněžený moře“ means, according to an author Jiří Fejt jr., symbolical expression of secret place of everyone of us, where man can „switch off“ and concentrate on only pleasent thoughts. Before a publishing of album at Multisonic was the song „Perla“ chosen from 166 other songs to finale of international author competition Evropa Hit 2005 in Liberec which broadcasted Czech television (Channel 1) on 16th October 2005.

History

An idea to found a band came up sometime around 1996 when thanks to a long-term friendship of two neighbours the two young future musicians, Martin Mahdal and Jirka Fejt, came together. They started to look for other musical fans at the grammar school they attended. They started to have a performance like a band „Bez názvu“.The band played at the school events and several other occasions, and they also performed at many birthday parties of their friends. After a while they experienced their first real rock club performance then they had quite lot of performance through West Bohemia, but they also played at the car show and business parties and took part in various musical competitions with a lot of success.. Thanks to their first record become one of the greatest victories of the band - winning the price called „The Band of the Month“ - the top of the regional bands according to the listeners of the „Egrensis“ radio in Cheb.

In 2001 the band took part in a competition called „Muse 2001“ (in „ Divadlo Pod lampou“ in Pilsen) where it was awarded with the audience prize. They have had concerts more frequently so it became topical to record first regular album. Before it's publication the band decided to rename from „ Bez názvu“ to „Erion“. This name comes from acient Greek language and word to word means „wave“. It exactly make a justice to a light-harted and melodic music style which Erion produces. Anyhow the first album was called a little bit nostalgic ­ „Bez názvu“ ­ according to a former name of their band. Songs of this album were so quality material, that company Popron Music grasp the oppurtunity to publish it. Popron Music published CD and MC of Erion in the year 2003. This album christened a singer Ladislav Křížek together with a writer Vladimír Páral. Songs of this album were successful not only among fans of the band, who found a fanclub, which has more than 200 fans nowadays, but also in regionals and republic radios. For example a song „ Pohodovka snů“ recieved the great award from ČRo1 - Radiožurnál „Gold Czech Twelve 2003“ together with songs of Dan Landa, Čechomor or Marek Eben. „ Pohodovka snů“ prooved thanks to SMS of audience take a front post of „ Czech Top Twelve“. Similarly in other top chart, Formule POP, including the first one, song „Ty a já“ („ You and Me“).

It was possible to catch a sight of Erion in summer music festivals, as well ­ like Vizovické trnkobraní 2004, where Erion even opened main night programme with band Chinaski. Erion played on the same stage together with for example Mňága a Žďorp, Damiens, Kečup and the others. The band paused for a short time at the beginning of the year 2005 to make fully a second album in a new coat. Second album is called „ Zasněžený moře“, whose producer is known musician and owner of Multisonic publishing Karel Vágner. But before it, was one song „ Perla“ chosen from 166 competetive songs to finale of international author's competition Evropa Hit 2005 in Liberec. This programme, include performance of Erion was broadcasted by Czech Television. Then followed first making videoclip on TV Očko and other activities around promotion of new album. This album „Zasněžený moře“ is a mind of light-harted and melodic pop-rock and it's strongly influenced by irish trend. One of critics even called Erion like „ Czech“ The Corrs. In the album we can find in general 17 songs (12 totally new, 5 bonuses including 2 in English). The experts of creation of Erion claims that new album „ Zasněžený moře“ is proof of music maturity of the band and predict huge acceptance among audience and experts public, as well.
